Beautifully designed by Outrageous Interiors and with photos by Heather Fritz, this coastal farmhouse-style dining room is a special place, not only for its beautiful design, but also for what it means to this family. After losing their home to a fire, the homeowners saw the chance to get an updated look, while keeping the feel of the space warm and inviting. Casual and comfortable were key design elements throughout the open floor plan.
The use of three rustic pendant lights is a unique design feature, which combines with the table, chairs, rug and drapery to create the desired rustic charm. The shiplap walls were also an important element because they balance the weight of the stone walls in the adjacent room.
Texture creates a welcoming feel in this dining room. Who wouldn’t love to dine, chat or start the day with a cup of coffee in this space?
Windows: The custom window treatments are a neutral linen fabric with a simple tape on the leading edge. They are lined, weighted and hung from a very simple iron pole. The Roman shades are by Horizon, which is a brand only available to the trade.
The rug is a 8’x10′ wool hand tufted rug from Outrageous Interiors. It goes perfectly with this casual farmhouse dining room.
The lights are Lucia Chandelier from Outrageous Interiors. Constructed from iron and burlap, the antique style lantern fits seamlessly with any decor – $599 each.
Light Dimensions: The pendant lights are 13 x 13 x 20 high. The ceiling height in this casual dining area is 10 feet. A good rule of thumb is 30 inches from the top of the dining table to the bottom of the fixture. The designers were trying to keep the view of the pool area clear, so they hung these a couple of inches higher.
Chairs are Key Largo Arm Chairs from Outrageous Interiors – $499 each.
The rustic greywashed table has been discontinued but Kingsley-Bate has similar tables.
The wall color is Sherwin Williams SW 7043 Worldly Gray. This is a great neutral that works well with natural wood tones like you we here, and is perfect with gray tones as well. It is a versatile paint color that adds warmth to a room. Keep this one in mind!!! 🙂

What are your plans for today? I hope you find yourself doing something that makes you happy and keep you healthy — mentally, physically and spiritually.
