Hello, everyone! I hope you had a fun 4th of July! I’m taking a little break from our “Pinterest Fuel” today to share my “Guest Picks” on Houzz. I’m also taking a few days off and I’ll be back on Monday with a great post for you. I just need these days to recharge, but before that, let me share some ideas of how to design with florals.

Don’t be limited to bring florals into your home only with fabrics. Be adventurous! This pendant is a fun addition and it comes in many different colors.
This pillow reminds me of Sarah Richardson. I could design a room based on it. I love the color palette.
Fresh linens are a must and these florals add a delicate touch to the decor.
Don’t be afraid of wallpaper. They’ve changed and improved in so many ways. I love this one for a foyer or powder room.
Can you find a more subtle floral lamp? This is perfect to bring a coastal feel to an entrance or family room.

I hope you guys have a wonderful day! I feel bad for taking tomorrow off (I know, I know!!! 🙂 ) but I feel the need to not have anything on my “to do list”. I’m always saying here that we need to find the time to do things we want to do, and all I want to do during this weekend is getting in the car with my family, drive to a new beach, build sand castles with the kids and come back home without having to worry about any errands.
I also need a little time to be in touch with my heart. I’ve mentioned before that my grandmother (she’s like a mother to me, since she also raised me) was diagnosed with alzheimer’s in the beginning of the year and she’s not doing really well lately and it’s hard to see someone you love so dearly, change. To be completely honest, I need this time to relax, analyze all of this and feel loved by my kids and my husband. I know I’ll be better after that. 🙂

Take all the time you need Luciane, sounds like you need a break to be with your family and thats exactly what you should do! We will all be here waiting when you are ready to return, family is always first. And the beauty of a blog is that you are the captain of your own ship and get to navigate your own course….so best of luck and prayers for your grandmother.

I was reminded today (by a sappy commercial on TV, haha) how important it is to re-charge once in a while. I did that yesterday by taking a day off completely from any “have-to”s and feel so much better today to jump back into work. As most designers know, our creativity comes from taking time away from work and “living”. Our true inspiration (and energy) comes from being around those we love, communing with nature and being part of this life that is our gift . I am so glad to hear you are going to take a few days to enjoy the things in your life that are the most cherished. Enjoy! my friend 😀 xo

So sorry to hear about your dear Grandmother, I will say a prayer for her (and you too, for the good Lord to give you peace of mind). Enjoy your weekend with your family – take tomorrow to do your reflections and pray for your Grandmother, then take Saturday to not think of ANY problems or concerns; just one day to not think of any worries at all and just enjoy a day with your kids.
