Have you ever dreamed of owning a cottage abroad? How about Spain?

Designed by Belén Campos, an interior designer from Barcelona, this rustic cottage once was a country cottage from the 1600’s. The owners bought the place, in ruins, because they fell in love with the land that offered mountainous country vistas.

Patience and persistence were needed to accomplish the conclusion of this cottage that was finally ready after four long years. While the cottage was being meticulously built by local artisans, they had time to carefully select original and restored materials.

The result is impressive. This is a cottage that was done with so much care and attention to detail, from its architecture to its rich interiors with patina, antiques and flea-market finds.

Rustic Cottage in Spain

This dreamy rustic cottage is located in Garrotxa, Spain.

Patio Decor

A special attention was given to the porch with some beautiful accessories.

Table lamp and vases are from India & Pacific.

Rustic Entryway

Stone walls are also found inside of the cottage.

Table and lamp are antiques from “Coco-Mat”.

Home Decor

So charming!

Bottles are also from India & Pacific.

Restored Charm

Gorgeous! I love the brick, stone and restored wooden doors.

Mirror is from a French antique store.

Living Room

Beautiful hues and textures are found in this cozy living room.

Coffee table is an antique. Chairs were reupholstered by “Crearte” and the hand-made rug is by Pere Batlle.

Floors

Floors are hand-made brick by local artisans. How beautiful!

Rustic Kitchen

European kitchens are always so intriguing. They really know how to mix old and new well!

Cabinets are by “Leicht” and stools are from “El Taller dels Somnis”

Country-inspired

Always display what you love around your home.

These are vintage pieces.

French Flair

This kitchen beautifully mixes rustic with modern and French-country styles.

French chandelier is an antique.

Dining Room

Once again we see some French influences with the chandeliers and other antiques.

Imagine having a candlelit dinner here with that stone wall… so romantic!

Chandeliers are from “Azul-Tierra” and linen curtains are by “Les Créations de la Maison”.

Decorating with Candles

Nothing gives more personality to your home than accessories. Display them around and you’ll see how much inviting your place will feel.

Chair

Chairs were beautifully designed by Belén Campos.

I love the green velvet chair pads.

Con Amor

This cottage is perfect! Made with love and care.

Tray is by India & Pacific.

Mantel

A mantel full of beautiful patina is also found in this rustic cottage.

Antique mantel and mirror are from Mavi Lizán.

Rustic Bathroom

Elegance is subtly found in this rustic bathroom through an antique mirror.

Bedroom

This bedroom is romantic and country, and it has great mountain views.

Feminine Touch

Linens are by Carmen Borja.

Original Details

This is the only room in the house with a vibrant color. I actually think it’s perfect for the space. After all, this is a cottage in Spain, isn’t it?!

The reading nook is a very neat idea!

Spanish Dream

Could a porch get any better than this? This place is surrounded by beauty!

The outside world would cease to exist if I lived in a home like this 😀 Oh those brick floors, the stone walls and those gorgeous doors – and the warm, muted colours – they got it right in this house!

The patio decor is an inspiration. I love everything about the interior design from the littlest details to stones walls and the view from each room. The view from the kitchen /dining area was to die for too! Brilliant!

    beijo querida,
