Beach Cottage

Today’s beach cottage is here to steal our heart! Completely renovated by architects and interior designers Polhemus Savery DaSilva, this is the kind of beach cottage that can convince you to sell your home to finally live your dream to be by the ocean.

Located in Chatham, this historic beach cottage is now the perfect place for its homeowners to enjoy summer with a sandy beach only steps away.

When renovating this cottage, the architect made the effort to keep the exterior as original as possible, while the interiors were completely transformed. Expansive walls of windows were added for natural light and to take advantage of the ocean views. Doors were added to make the patio more accessible and easier to be enjoyed during the warm months.

The main rooms of this cottage were perfectly renovated. The small, outdated and dark kitchen became the showpiece of this beach cottage. The remaining rooms are beautifully decorated with colorful, cheerful fabrics and charming coastal decor.

I’m sure you’ll feel inspired.

Hello everyone! Before anything I want to thank you ALL from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for being so kind to me and thank you for your words of encouragement. I’m not sure how many of you prayed and wished me to feel better, but I woke up stronger and feeling happier, much more positive today and I know that prayers are powerful.

I have to say that I was feeling very depressed in the hospital after the nurses told me to get ready for the surgery. The doctor that was supposed to see me that day had passed this order to them and I was going to have that unexpected surgery that same day. I did what I was told and waited and waited. While I was waiting for the moment to be called to go have the surgery, I prayed and I asked if this was the right moment for this to happen. I felt uncomfortable and I felt in my heart that wasn’t right. I even called my husband saying I wanted to come home and not go ahead with it. I wasn’t afraid of the surgery alone, but I felt that something could go wrong with that and I shouldn’t do it. I prayed for God to take that away if that wasn’t right for me.

After many hours (I was told I was going to have the surgery before 8 am), at 7 pm a new doctor comes to see me. He– someone that I actually felt comfortable with and felt that he really knew what he was talking about– finally tells me that I couldn’t have a surgery that day. That would be too risky.

I actually was just told today that we’ll continue with the treatment until May 1st, when I’ll see him again. I’m still praying and hoping that I won’t need a surgery (although he was certain that I will need one), but even if I really, really have to go through this, I will do it feeling prepared.

I feel we often live without stopping and thinking about the decisions we’re making and the decisions people often make for us. We must not ignore our inner voice. If you feel something is not suppose to happen, don’t be afraid to say it so. Don’t be afraid to pray and ask for wisdom, discernment and I’m grateful I did that because I’m not sure how I would be at this moment if I hadn’t asked, if I hadn’t prayed, if I simply accepted.

Thank you so much for your words, your positive thoughts and your prayers. I’m receiving them.

With Love,
