Restored Cottage in Spain
I am seeing a big number of designer cottages for rent lately. It seems to be a big thing these days to have a vacation property decorated by an interior designer, then, hope for magazine publicity and put it up for rent.
Take for example this restored cottage in Spain, located in the heart of the Penedès wine region, just 35 km from Barcelona.
“Mas Joliu” is the jewel of Catalan countryside. The property itself is situated on rolling hills that are covered by some of Spain’s most beautiful vineyards and olive groves, and with the stunning Montserrat mountains serving as a backdrop. Inside of this beautifully restored cottage, you’ll find an eclectic combination of local antiques and modern pieces, chosen by the well known Spanish designer Marta Esteve.
Nothing was overlooked in this place, from the enchanting patio to the inspiring rustic kitchen. Everything seems to be perfectly placed together and I can’t help but wish I could spend a couple of weeks in this cottage in Spain.

You can’t help but feel the warmth of this space. The stone walls are incredibly charming and the decor complements that.

The left wall and the ceiling was painted in a deep red. The color is repeated in many other decorative accessories in the room.

Here, the designer mixed traditional pieces with contemporary to break the seriousness of the space.

This kitchen took my breath away! There’s something so sexy, so real about this space that’s rarely found.

The brick wall is original to the house, but what really steals the show is that incredible ceiling and doors.
