This 1920’s bungalow home, located in the heart of downtown Carmel, California went through a small renovation that lead to a complete home makeover. New driftwood oak floors, board and batten walls, Ann Sacks tile, modern finishes, and an overall neutral palette creates a perfect combination of urban with coastal inspired interiors.
As you will see, small homes sometimes feel more welcoming and homely than big ones. And, perhaps, limited square-footage might be just what we need to get smarter with our interiors. Take a look at these great ideas!

Windows Paint Color: Windows and doors are “Sherwin Williams Well-Bred Brown SW 7027”.
White Coral
I am loving this casual coastal look! It’s not too complicate.
Similar coral can be found at Dovecote in Westport Ct.
Powder Room
No matter how small a powder room is, you can always make it look great! Start with an interesting wall treatment, a fabulous mirror and architectural sconces.
Mirror is “Ogden Blue by Uttermost Company” and walls are covered in grass cloth wallpaper.
Seagrass
The flooring here is seagrass carpeting.
Master Bedroom
The soft blue paint color in the master bedroom is “Rainwashed, Sherwin-Williams“.
Coastal Art
According to the designer, paints were kept fairly neutral to represent the sand outside.
Neutral Bathroom
I am really loving the neutral color palette of this house. You don’t get tired of it!
The wall paint color is Sherwin Williams: Accessible Beige (SW 7036) & the bead-board and trim is Sherwin Williams: Alabaster (SW 7008).
Sconces are “Fabric Wall Sconce by George Kovacs”.
Mixing Elements
The mix of satin nickel and oil-rubbed bronze makes the space more interesting, and the dark wicker mirror helps tie in the darker colors found in the rest of the home.
Guest Bedroom
I love natural elements in a room, and the texture and material of this rattan headboard are so pretty and would help keep the room feeling grounded.
Guest Bathroom
Calming hues are repeated here.
Casual Elegance
The second guest bedroom is elegant yet casual.
