Oprah Winfrey is looking for yet, another mansion for her collection. The New York Post has informed that Oprah is house- hunting in the New York area and the most impressive house that she has looked yet is the infamous $68 million dollars mansion in Alpine, New Jersey.

Oprah got to the house around noon and her security team asked everyone to leave the mansion and the grounds, so it would be empty when she walked through. Only a security guard was allowed to stay at his post at the gate.

The house itself is immense. It has 12 bedrooms, 19 bathrooms, 30,300 sq/ft. a library, ballroom, movie theater, tennis court, saline pool, wine cellar, 11 car garage, several fireplaces, English gardens, ponds, pool house and a carriage house. The land alone is worth $15 million and the landscaping and stone walls are valued at about $5 million.

The house is only half-hour drive from Manhattan.

Honestly, I find hard to imagine all of that! Maybe it’s easier if we see some pictures.

This Estate could be Oprah’s new Home.

Timeless beauty.

This house has this gorgeous kitchen, plus a catering one.

Neautral colors and American walnut floors. Perfection!

The owners chose antiques sconces and mirrors and they’re included in the price of the home.

The architecture of this house is outstanding.

Can you picture Oprah reading her books here?

If Oprah’s looking for perfection, she should buy this place.

Little Piece

About 10 curved windows as seen here cost around $20,000 a piece. The driveway has radiant heat so the cars won’t get too cold in the winter and there’s no need for shoveling snow.

Pass it to me

Would Oprah play some ball here? 😉

A subterranean drainage system is built into the rear lawn to clear away water quickly, so you can still play after a heavy rain. Très chic!

Oprah has houses in Chicago, Maui, and the Caribbean island of Antigua, also her mostly known Estate “The Promise Land” in Montecito, California. For that mansion alone she paid $50,000,000. But again, when it comes to Oprah, does money really count?

Oh, I almost forgot! If you buy this house and you don’t want to share your “vino” with anybody, you’re safe here. The wine cellar can be accessed only with thumbprint recognition software. Poor Stedman… 🙂

What’s your thoughts? If you were Oprah, would you buy this place?

I just absolutely love that estate, it is just beautiful. If I’m spending $70 million, though, I would rather be up in Greenwich or Riverside. Yeah, Alpine is a bit closer to Manhattan (by like 15 minutes) but still, I would never pay that much in New Jersey.

  2. wow, the house is so big! if I’m spending so much I’ll buy a beautiful house on the island Mallorca.

    have a wonderful weekend!

    Oi, Luciane

    a mulher é poderosa, não?
A mansão é fantástica e imensa, mas ainda assim não justifica a soma milionária que estão cobrando.
Beijos e um ótimo final de semana prá você também.

  4. It is amazing to me that a home this large can look like a home. The kitchen is to die for, and the living room is gorgeous too. Ok, the entire home is over the top gorgeous.
Thanks for sharing this beautiful home.

  5. Hello Everyone!

I’m glad you guys are liking it! I love it too. 🙂

Teresa: I agree.. I was in shock too that a house this big feels like a “real and comfortable” home. Usually they feel so empty and cold.

Of course this is absolutely spectacular and so beautiful, but really how much room can one person…even one with so much $$$, use…appparently a lot! (-: Thank you for sharing. And thank you also for taking the time to visit me.

  8. Your blog is pure eye candy! Love it. Thanks for stopping by my blog today.
I guess, as you said, who’s counting if you’re Oprah. It’s hard for me to wrap my head around spending that much money on anything.

  9. I love love the kitchen and living room. I have to say this huge house would make me feel lonely. But put the kitchen and living room in a 4 bedroom house, it would be perfect. I thought it was funny there were green apples in the kitchen – that is her favorite color (I’m a big Oprah fan) XO Laura

  10. Hi Laura,

So I will make sure to wear “green” if I ever meet Oprah. 🙂

I agree with you. That’s a HUGE house…. and I absolutely love the kitchen and living room.

That is a beautiful house but I wonder if it could ever be home for her. Just the housekeeping staff would be a lot of people around that weren’t family.

  12. Karen said,

Yes, while I can appreciate the architecture, I will never understand why one person would need a place of this magnitude, even if they can afford it. I love those places that you have featured that are clean and follow the understated elegance approach. Just my own preference….

  13. Karen,
It’s great to have you here!

  14. Oh my, this is totally unreal. I can’t even imagine living in a place like this, but I really could get use to it. How many servants would you need? So gorgeous. Thanks also for the visit and your gracious comment. Hugs, Marty

  15. Stunning home. Opluent, regal and very Oprah. I wonder if she wears her tiara when she sleeps ha!

Olá Luciane, a casa é maravilhosa, grandiosa, deslumbrante! Será que esse banquinho da cozinha não risca o chão? rs
Ahh! Esse vidrinho colorido que está no balcão da cozinha a gente acha no 1,99 aqui no Brasil, custa uns R$ 30,00.
    Parabéns pela matéria!

  19. Beautiful! Really beautiful. But I’d rather have a comfy- cozy cottage at the beach any day.

  20. It’s a really lovely house, but soooooo big. My house would fit in the garage and it’s too big!

    Have a great weekend!

  21. Nichole,

I’m so glad to see you here! Yeah.. you can get lost in a house lie that. It’s wonderful if you’re mad at your husband… lol

  22. The house is gorgeous.. but $68 million dollars? I couldn’t afford the electric bill on this place.

  23. Sherry, I thought the same thing! How much would be the electric bill for a house like that?

    That’s too funny!

    Luciane at HomeBunch.com

  24. Oh my goodness, it’s COMPLETELY goregeous! I don’t think I knew that houses like that even existed!

Why are there quite so many bathrooms compared to bedrooms? Does that seem a bit weird to you too? Maybe the original builder had a little problem in that department and always needed a loo to dash to in an emergency.

Sorry to lower the tone of your gorgeous blog!!!

WOW…now that’s some house. Definitely Oprah worthy!!

  26. I don’t know about Oprah, but I’d be very happy there!

Vimos o seu site e adoramos! Parabéns.

  28. Lisa said,

Not impressed!! I just got to have that “at home” feeling and I surely wouldn’t feel that at this house. Why in the world would anyone want it? Seriously… Only cause they can afford it!! Hooray for you Oprah!! Does nothing for me!!

  29. Oprah:

So blessed, I would love to have one of your
small homes with everything in it. So you can
enjoy this beautilful new home . You earned
everything you have. May God keep blessing you!!
