Cottage of the Week: Feminine Cottage
Posted in: Cottage

This cottage is surrounded by beautiful gardens and trees. The interiors are a mix of Scandinavian and shabby-chic. I could imagine myself in this cottage. I could see myself relaxing in the simple rooms, some with amazing antiques and others almost empty. Most of all, I could see myself enjoying the nature surrounding this place.

What also impressed me about this cottage was the playroom, or should I call it “play-shed”? It was probably the cutest playroom I’ve seen. It made me wish I was a kid again.

I really hope you enjoy this one!

Foyer

The foyer is kept to a minimum, with a vintage bench that has an amazing patina.

Desk

I love the tall ceilings and these doors.

Kitchen

Stressed wood cabinets and a farmhouse sink makes this cottage feel even better.

Eating Area

A beautiful chandelier above the table.

Family Room

The family room is very cozy and just perfect!

The Other Side

I can see great family time being spent here.

Rocking Chair

An old rocking chair is always so charming and inviting.

Sweet

A delicate touch.

Rare Beauty

This vintage tuffet bed is a dream!

Doors

I always love bedrooms that open to the garden.

Pretty

I’m adoring vintage cages lately and this one looks great by the fireplace.

Light

Feminine soul.

Strong

Masculine details.

Baby Girl

So adorable!

Sunroom

The sunroom is one of my favorite places in this cottage. It’s where I’d be on a rainy day, listening to the rain fall.

Indoors

The sunroom of this cottage feels almost like a green house. It’s filled with plants and antiques.

Colors

Planting and meditating…

Doors

The vintage doors lead to the garden.

Red

Gardner’s paradise!

Inside-out

This place is really special, inside-out!

Play-shed

The playroom is located in the shed outside. This is a good option for a cottage, where the square footage is limited.

Quiet Times

This is how you keep a kid quiet for hours. Much better than TV!

Let’s Play

It really makes me want to be a little girl once again. I’d spend lots of time here with my daughter!

What’s Cooking?

Oh, my! So cute!!!

It’s Ready!

Tea, anyone?

Walls & Floors

I love the color on the walls and the painted wooden floors look so cute.

Basket

This stays by the door of the “play-shed”. Fresh strawberries can be picked by the little ones.

Relaxed Parents

While the kids play the parents can cuddle here!

Beautifully Arched

And the beauty continues.

For Two

This is what I dream about with a cottage, to spend my time doing absolutely nothing, just relaxing and living.

Did you like this place? I feel even more relaxed after seeing the beautiful gardens. Remember, “Cottage of the Week” happens every Tuesday and I hope you’re enjoying this series as much as I am. I started it as a way to celebrate this summer with you.

Thank you for being here today!

Be happy and be safe!

i love a place like this that can take a beating. no pristine surfaces to worry about scratching or marring. i hope our basement re-do will have a similar sort of vibe because it will make my job as housekeeper sooooooo much easier.

thinking of you and the bun in there.
