This turquoise cottage is more shabby than chic and that’s exactly why I really love it. The color also helps a lot! I’m a huge fan of turquoise and it’s practically impossible to not love a place that’s this color on the beach.

Everything about this cottage is completely simple. I can’t spot anything luxurious here and that’s just right for its location. I dream of having a cottage and I imagine it to be a simple place just like this one, where no one will mind if the kids come running from the beach and bring sand everywhere (ok, maybe I’ll mind a little), or if they decide to have they favorite popsicle in the living room. Just seeing this place makes me feel a bit relaxed. I hope you enjoy it.

On the Beach

Simple places can be so poetic at times.

Dining Room

This room is peaceful. All the gentle colors, furniture and even the flooring makes this room feel right.

Tick-Tock

You find little details everywhere you look in this cottage, including the walls.

Living Room

Comfy, very spacious and laid-back.

Kitchen

Everything turquoise and everything feels really welcoming!

Family Room

The family room feels just a perfect place to come after a long day on the beach, have a very cold beverage and talk and rock yourself on the rocker, feeling the ocean’s breeze at the end of the day.

Bedroom

Oh, how sweet is this room, right? The antiqued turquoise bed and quilts are really adorable.

Kids’ Bedroom

I like the color on the wall.

Snuggle Up

A daybed in the sunroom is the perfect spot to snuggle up with the one you love, or a book! I prefer the 1st option. 🙂

Turquoise Benches

I can’t get enough of this turquoise outdoor space!

Flowers

The gardens are also really cute in this place.

Your Time

If you don’t feel like spending the day at the beach, you also can spend your day in this beautiful garden. Which one you prefer?

Any Place

A garden with a view!

Anywhere

It’s beautiful everywhere you look.

Anytime

I’d love to have my laptop and work from here, or maybe not. How could I concentrate on anything else with a view like that?!

I can’t believe summer is almost over. I don’t want to be negative, but after school starts, we all know we can’t be “hanging out” whenever we want. I’ll have to wake up super early again, prepare the kids for school and the errands are endless. Having that in mind, I hope to have many more sunny days on the beach with my kids and I hope you are also being able to enjoy your summer in the best way possible.

Have a great day and remember to smile more today.

I have to admit when I saw it from the outside, i was thinking huh? But then inside..wow what a treat. Love how open and airy it is, and its just the right blend of rustic/vintage appeal. Beautiful and the kind of house you don’t have a cow for bringing sandy feet into!

Exactly, Tina! I know you can’t say much from the outside and I love that! I love the fact you don’t have to worry about anything in this house and that’s how a “perfect” cottage for me should be. Totally easy and charming.

it’s so charming, L. my cottage would be lots of white inside and out. very very simple and edited so no clutter to make it easier to keep clean and to dream. it would have to be near water or have a pool. and it would have a european beachy vibe. your comment about the popsicle in the living room made me squirm so it just goes to show i am getting old and set in my ways…why on earth would one need to EAT in the living room? that’s what kitchens are for!!! see? neurotic and old.

great big hug for your magnificent super power for finding the most charming places on the planet.

  5. Michele,

You really made me laugh with your comment! See, I agree with you… no eating in the living room, but when it’s a open space like this one, you can picture the kids coming from the sandy beach, asking for a popsicle and rocking the sugar out of them on those chairs. And really, if I had a place like this one I would go there to relax and let the kids be the same way. 🙂

By the way, you also made me feel “powerful” with your “super power” comment! Ha!

    Lots of love to you.

Aliás, neste momento, estou com as mãos, cabelos e braços todos sujos de tinta porque estou pintando a cozinha do escritório em azul marinho. Um luxo hihi bjs

Fabulous setting for this quaint cottage with all of its nooks and crannies. Really lovely and I want the iron daybed! My beach house is white and turquoise, but I’ve thrown in a bit of faded leopard here and there…

  19. cindy said,

I’m tutting and sighing as I look at these pics – that’s what I always do when I see a perfect space. Laid back, cosy, and right on the beach. I love it!
