I know you guys love seeing the projects I share by AKB Design, so today I am featuring a classic kitchen designed by them that will inspire your classic kitchen project. Should you planning on a new build, kitchen renovation or are simply daydreaming, this kitchen is filled with design inspiration.
Some kitchens feel designed, while others feel composed. This one falls beautifully into the latter. Every element – color, material, and detail – has been thoughtfully layered to create a space that feels warm, elevated, and completely timeless.
This kitchen is a perfect example of kitchen design done right. It blends classic craftsmanship with natural materials and a muted palette, resulting in a space that feels both refined and effortlessly livable. The combination of soft green cabinetry, expressive marble, warm wood tones, and aged brass accents creates a kitchen that feels collected over time rather than newly installed.

The cabinetry, painted in Benjamin Moore Louisburg Green, sets the tone for the entire space. This shade of green has a muted, earthy quality that allows it to act almost like a neutral. It brings depth to the kitchen without overpowering it, and it shifts beautifully throughout the day depending on the light.

The counterstools introduce a light, airy contrast to the richness of the wood island and green cabinetry. Their natural wood frame and woven seats add texture and warmth while keeping the overall look relaxed and approachable.

The wood island introduces a beautiful layer of contrast that keeps the kitchen from feeling too uniform. Its rich tone anchors the space and adds a sense of warmth that balances the cooler notes in the marble and cabinetry.
Subtle design details, like the softly curved edges and integrated open shelving, give the island a custom, furniture-like quality. The wood flooring further enhances this warmth, tying the entire kitchen together in a way that feels cohesive and inviting. Stunning!

Manufacturing of Cabinets : Armoires Cordeau.

The Calacatta Viola marble introduces movement and personality in a way that instantly elevates the kitchen. Its dramatic veining, with tones of deep burgundy, charcoal, and soft taupe, transforms the backsplash and countertops into a true focal point. I love this stone. Rich and timeless.

The classic inset cabinet construction reinforces a sense of craftsmanship, while the understated brass hardware adds just enough warmth and subtle shine. Together, these details create a look that feels traditional, yet fresh and current.
Hardware: Cabinet Knob & Cupboard Latch.

By continuing the marble as a full-height backsplash, the design feels seamless and intentional. The stone becomes a natural piece of art, eliminating the need for excessive decoration and allowing the material itself to take center stage. Notice the sink apron, which also features the same stone.
Backsplash: Calacatta Viola Marble, Slab.
Rail: Aged Brass Hanging Rails.

Faucet: House of Rohl, Acqui Wall Mount Column Spout Bridge Kitchen Faucet, Finish: Italian Brass.

What truly sets this kitchen apart is the attention to detail. A brass rail introduces both function and charm, while small styling moments, like a table lamp, framed artwork, and fresh florals, soften the overall look.

Architectural elements, including the ceiling beams and sculptural range hood, add depth and dimension without overwhelming the space. These layers work together to create a kitchen that feels warm, welcoming, and thoughtfully curated.

Transoms are one of those classic elements that instantly elevate a space. In this pantry, they help blur the boundary between rooms, making the transition feel intentional rather than abrupt. They also reinforce the traditional undertones of the design, tying in beautifully with the inset cabinetry, paneling, and timeless material palette.

While the main kitchen leans into the depth of Louisburg Green cabinetry, the pantry shifts into a softer palette with Benjamin Moore OC-19 Seapearl, creating a subtle yet intentional transition between spaces.

At the center of the pantry, the black soapstone countertop introduces contrast and depth. Its matte finish absorbs light in a way that feels grounded and timeless, especially when paired with the warm patina of the brass faucet. The curved backsplash detail adds a custom, almost vintage-inspired touch, softening the strong horizontal lines of the counter and cabinetry.

This kitchen is a beautiful reminder that timeless design is achieved through thoughtful combinations rather than trends. The interplay between color, texture, and material creates a space that feels both current and enduring.
It is the kind of kitchen that not only photographs beautifully, but also invites you to slow down, gather, and truly enjoy the space.
