Classic Beach House

A classic beach house is a dream for many of us and this one proves once again why living by the water is the truly ultimate spot.

Taking advantage of the incredible views offered by Long Island Sound, Stamford Harbor and the Old Greenwich, this classic shingle style beach house is surrounded by coastline. Its enchanting peninsula setting at the end of a serene private lane is breathtaking.

Designed by architect Rudy Ridberg, with interiors by Louise Brooks, and construction by award-winning Hobbs, this understatedly elegant residence is modeled on the timeless ideals of a New England seacoast home. Wonderfully inviting rooms are appointed with charming turret bays, exquisite millwork, antique wide-board floors and three fireplaces. The view-filled wraparound porch and terrace open off the gracious formal coastal dining room, window-walled family room and dine-in Christopher Peacock white kitchen. In addition to another large family room, the second floor offers three bedrooms featuring the spacious master suite with stunning waterfront balcony. Two more bedrooms are on the third floor.

If coastal interiors always inspire you, I am sure you will feel a little more relaxed after seeing the beauty and elegance found in this house.

Can you look at this picture and keep the word “wow” out of your mind? I couldn’t! :-)

Note the grasscloth wallpaper, the cream white trims and darker ceiling.

This is what I call “breathtaking views”!

This is probably the most original mudroom I have seen — and with the best view too!

Staircase

This is yet another original space found in this house! The staircase railings continues to the hallway above a practical bench, throughout the basement.

Bedroom Design

The master bedroom feels very fresh and summery.

My favorite thing in this room, other than the view, is that exquisite custom window. I would love to place a desk in that area.

Bathroom

The bathroom is on the small side (for the size of this house), but I really like the idea of having a window-seat.

Basketweave

Beautiful views can also be enjoyed from the master bathroom.

Great mix of marble subway and basketweave tiles. A very classic choice!

Coastal Bedroom

The guest bedroom is truly fun! I love the custom oversized window-seat and the coastal motif. This bedroom would be perfect for kids!

Classically designed, this bathroom has many timeless features, such as flooring, sinks and built-in.

Hello, my dear friends! How are you all doing today? Did you have a good weekend?

I am very happy because the weather is finally getting better and we’re expecting to have a warm week… so, the snow will hopefully melt. I loved a comment I read last week that said we will be rolling on grass when we finally see it. Count me in! I will be doing that too! LOL

As you can see, I am starting this week feeling very positive and knowing it will be great. I hope you can have this same feeling about yours.

Let’s think positive and attract only great vibes around us! :-)

Big hugs to all of you and thank you so much for always being here…. I enjoy your presence and appreciate all of your kind words! They mean a lot to me!

with Love,
