When it comes to kitchen renovations, believe it or not, but this is the busiest time of the year. Many homeowners want to start the new year with a new kitchen, which means that the same homeowners are searching for new kitchen design ideas, new kitchen trends, new appliance trends, new countertop materials, new hardware, new lighting, new best flooring for kitchens… you get the idea!
When it comes to new, this kitchen just came out of the oven… can you smell the fresh paint? Designed by the talented interior designer Julie Smith of Jula Cole Design, this kitchen with black cabinets unfolds many trends that are current and should continue to be for a long time. In fact, what I have seen this year when it comes to kitchen design is the change of the oh-so-popular rustic farmhouse kitchen design becoming “less rustic” and more “streamlined”, and the trend of mixing painted cabinets with wooden accents will continue to be strong in the new year.
This dark beauty is the result of a project renovation that involved the kitchen, dining and living room. The clients were more modern than the few farmhouses the designer had worked with before and probably more similar to her own personal style.
