We used to live in a lakefront community before and I miss the tranquility you often get from it. We love the ocean and that’s why we have moved, but there’s a peacefulness about lakes that you simply don’t find in any other kind of waterfront property.
This is the kind of lake cottage that embraces every positive aspect of its location and incorporates many materials found in the area for its construction. The architects from Bonin Architects & Associates, renovated the original Lake Sunapee cottage respecting the classic Victorian homes in the neighborhood and the result is an impressively well-designed lakefront cottage.

Lakefront Cottage

I wish I could be there right now, enjoying the lake and having an icy cold drink. Oh, I really miss summer!
Family Room

This is how I love seeing cottages: you should keep it simple, light and everything should be low maintenance.
Kitchen

What a great kitchen! The countertop is schist.
Barn Doors

These doors were custom crafted by a local builder. The wood used was Reclaimed Douglas Fir, and the stain was Early American.
Bathroom

Who wouldn’t love to have those windows? The high ceiling make this bathroom feel larger and more open. Stunning floors.
Bunk Beds

It seems that bunk beds are becoming “mandatory” in cottages lately! We’re seeing them everywhere. I love the idea, after all, you can have two, or in this case, four kids sleeping in one bedroom. Fun for the kids and practical for the parents! đŸ˜‰
Coastal Kids

Any average bathroom can become coastal with some easy to change choices. Here, the designer opted for circled mirrors, coastal-inspired lights and the classic “navy, red & white” color combination. The light fixtures are by Barn Light Electric Company.
Mudroom

I really like the practicability of this mudroom. Every guest can have their own drawer, with its own towel.
The Doors

The stunning view of the lake.
Patio & Garden

Professionally landscaped.
Lake Cottage

Can I spend my whole summer there? Wouldn’t you?!
