Located in Shaker Heights, Ohio, this Tudor-style home was once completely neglected and left in foreclosure. Baring beautiful bones and historic architectural details, W Design breathed new life into this amazing property. The challenge of this project was merging the husband’s traditional style with the wife’s modern taste. A happy balance was found by adding modern details like brass hardware and custom black iron doors without compromising the traditional architecture of the home. The homeowners’ beautiful collection of artwork from years of living in China was incorporated into the design. Classic Chinese antiques add to the authentic flair. Old-meets-new in this Turn-of-the-Century home.
It’s really hard to believe this home used to a foreclosure. The home truly exudes personality and beautiful architectural details.

The challenge in this project was merging the husband’s traditional style with the wife’s modern taste. This kitchen is a bridge between the two aesthetics. The transitional shaker style white cabinetry on the perimeter and White Pearl Quartzite slab nods towards the classic feel.
Juxtaposed with the modern influences of the black iron accents and polished brass hardware, this kitchen is the perfect marriage of opposing styles. The subtle gray glass herringbone backsplash makes for an understated backdrop that allows the black range to really shine.
