Interior designer, Kristi Patterson from Grace Hill Design, and the builder, Gordon James Construction, worked closely with the homeowners to make the selection for all the finishes for this shingle style home – tile, flooring, lighting, cabinetry design, color, doors/trim, exterior, everything was carefully chosen. Most of the furniture, art, and accessories came from Grace Hill. The home has a casual coastal elegance with wide-planked white oak floors, a grand stone fireplace in the Great Room and an open staircase with patterned carpet and wrought iron spindles leading to the 2nd floor.
The designer’s favorite feature is the walk through pantry which comes off the mudroom and is locating behind the cooktop wall in the kitchen. There is a mix of open shelving which you can see from the kitchen and closed storage behind the cooktop wall to make it both beautiful and functional.
The brick flooring in the mudroom was inspired by the homeowner’s grandmother’s home. The bold cabinetry color and long desk/work space in the mudroom allows this room to be multi-purpose. The laundry room has colored cabinets and fresh wallpaper. The girl’s room with raspberry walls and bold wallpaper is so much fun.
I think you guys will love this shingle style home and its casual interiors as much as I did!
