Cottage of the Week: Country Cottages

Country cottages are special to me. I simply adore seeing not only the cottages itself but also its surroundings. It’s in the country that cottages sit alone, without any neighbors right beside your door, where you can sit on the porch and watch the birds and butterflies coming to welcome spring. It’s in a country cottage that you can dream of having the fireplace burning some wood and warming up a cold day, it’s in a country cottage that you can invite all the kids’ friend and see them climbing trees.
I believe that you can feel safer in a country cottage and let the kids run around, leave the doors and windows open, let the fresh breeze come in and not worry about the time.
I hope you can feel relaxed seeing these country cottages I selected for you today!
Family Cottage

Can you picture your family here?
Tiny Love

This one feels more than a country cottage, it feels like a country doll house!
Stone

Surrounded by trees.
Lovely

The perfect place to spend the whole summer.
Front Porch

I have to say this, if I ever have a cottage it will definitely have a front porch and a swing.
Sweet as Honey

You look at this cottage and you fall in love. What a curb-appeal!
Read & White

This is just adorable! I love the stone wall and the tulips.
Play

Can you imagine a movie being filmed here?
Turquoise

I love the color and architecture.
Happiness

How happy!
Pink

The architectural details of this cottage are really great and pink chairs are fun!
Stone Cottage

I’m not sure about staying here, but it’s very charming. Black picket-fence. Interesting contrast!
Lady

I’m adoring this tiny and sweet country cottage. Tea, anyone?
Dreamy

The gardens are enchanting.
For One

Cottage or shed? You can have a “mini-cottage” like this one for guests or the kids.
Banana

Cottages can be as tiny as your imagination allows.
Foggy

I love this country cottage. Not small, but simple and perfect.
Do you have a favorite one? I love so many here, but the last one feels so peaceful for me. Maybe it’s because the weather seems to be leaving everything quiet, calm, serene. I also love its simplicity. I think if I ever build a cottage, I’ll come back to this post to get the some ideas, but as I said before, it will have to have a front porch.
Now pay attention to this!!! Today is the last day:

I love the all stone cottages in fact we have one locally that looks exactly like the fourth cottage. These are beautiful!

I couldn’t narrow down a favorite – I like different things about all of them. The stone speaks to me, but I also love the idea of a swing… One day
One as charming as the next but the one where you commented couldn’t you see a movie being filmed there most spoke to me! All so sweet and charming. Happy bday to your son! It goes by sooo fast..enjoy every minute!
Love all the choices. Charming cottages everyone!
Like Tina, my favorite was the one for a movie.
Love this post! Makes me dream about a long summer vacation!
Oh so lovely, wonderful curb appeal….now to get inside each one to explore!
Loved these! I have pictures of the third one – the tiny dollhouse looking one – in my files. It’s actually on the water and has terrific views out the back, and it’s bigger than it looks. A woman built it herself. For sheer atmospherics, the one that looks like a movie setting wins my heart, but it’s probably chilly and damp! I always appreciate your uplifting words – you have a warm and tender heart.
Hi Luciane,
As odd as it may sound to some, I prefer a cottage to just about any other kind of home. There are about 4 of the above examples I could totally call “home”. I especially like the stone cottage with smoke coming from the chimney and a stream.
Thanks!
Karen
So quaint! I especially loved the one with the rounded door and growing vines – completely charming!
Delightful choices!
