This home was completely custom done by Kellie Hefner of Ivy House Interiors. The interiors are elegant without being too precious. Strong colors and pieces of personality shine against a neutral background, and between many details and spaces with so much beauty, a warm kitchen, painted in Benjamin Moore Linen White, easily becomes the center of this house. Timeless elements get a hint of glamour with brass lighting and brass hardware.
Wait and you will see… these custom interiors will not bore you!
This space feels collected and elegant. The entry wall paint color is Benjamin Moore Stonington Gray.
The sconces are Candace Olson, “Rhythm”. The dresser is from a local antique store that the designer had repainted in black. The art is made by Susan Skelley and at the time was purchased at One Kings Lane. The chairs are a Louis Style Arm Chair.
From a design perspective, this kitchen has an open layout, with the dining room and living space adjoining to create a large space for entertaining. The kitchen is the statement of the space, donned in Benjamin Moore Stonington Gray, the cabinetry reflects beautifully in Benjamin Moore Linen White.
The appliances are Wolf brand stove and Bosch ovens. Overall, the look of this kitchen is elegant and sophisticated which reflects the clients’ personalities.
The backsplash is Calacatta gold beveled edge subway tile. Notice how the tile is set.
The hardware is in a satin brass finish, with a mixed collection of pulls and knobs from Atlas Hardware.
The kitchen wet bar is conveniently located close to the dining area.
The countertops are Caesarstone, “London Gray” which for a kitchen is the best material to use, since it does not stain.
The statement of the kitchen are the gold lanterns from Visual Comfort “Mykonos Lantern” in gilded iron. The Louis style stools are from a local antique store that was re-finished in a black velvet fabric.
The dining room is set in front of wall to wall windows. The natural light brings in beautiful light to the space and also creates balance between the dark window treatments and the soft palette of the dining set. The chandelier is from Cyan Design “Alexandra Chandelier”. The curtains are Dupioni Silk Drapes from Pottery Barn in Platinum Gray. The table was previously owned by the client and the Louis style chairs are made by Zentique (can be purchased through Wayfair). The art resembles the outdoors and adds a pop of color to the space.
Updated Living Space
This updated living space has a more colorful rug from Wayfair. The designer kept the two arm chairs in cream, but changed the old beige couch for a gray couch.
The small accent table between the chairs is from Gabby Home and can be purchased through Ivy House. The foyer can be seen straight ahead behind the chairs.
The right side of the room features a sideboard from Gabby Home, that can be purchased through Ivy House. The art above was found at an estate sale and is the same art featured in the Master Bath. The ginger jars boxes and other accessories can also be purchased through Ivy House.
Black & White Rug

Isn’t it fun to see interior designers that aren’t afraid of using color? Designing with color is tricky but if you add it to the right place, and in moderation, the result is often a home that feels cheerful and happy – and who doesn’t want to live in a happy home, right? 🙂
Talking about being happy, I just want to say how happy I am for having you here today. Thank you so much for always supporting this little space that’s ours. I hope you can feel how important your part here is. I can’t do it all by myself and I honestly thank you for your support, for your loyalty and your friendship. Thank you for coming here, for sharing the blog with your family and friends and with your followers. It’s amazing to know how much love I get from you, my friends, and I want you to know how grateful I truly am.
May you feel my gratitude right there, in your heart.
Enjoy your day… it will be a beautiful one!
