Family Home with Transitional Interiors

According to the interior designer, Nina Topper from Nina Topper Interior Design, this family home with transitional interiors was designed for a very active young family. A stunning connection between the inside of the home and the lush gardens outside makes the home feel much larger than it is. Bold use of color and extraordinary finish materials along with unifying paint color and floor material make the home flow seamlessly while providing surprises around every turn.
I hope you have a good time seeing these new ideas on transitional interiors. Have fun!

 Family Home with Transitional Interiors

Remarkable architectural details are found in this home. I really like the paving stones leading to the distinctive entryway.

This home was designed by Polsky Perlstein Architects.

 Architecture

Black trims add some drama to this shingled home.

  Garage Design

Stunning exterior with natural stones and cedar shake sidings.

 Landscaping

Very pretty landscaping! I also love the copper gutters.

 At Dusk

Isn’t it a beautiful home?

 Transitional Living Room

This transitional living room has warm hues and textures with a very inviting seating arrangement.

Dining Room

Spacious and bright, this dining room is perfect for entertaining and it has lovely views of the backyard. I especially like the millwork and the doors.

The chairs are by Laura Kirar for McGuire.

 Transitional Kitchen

Can’t decide on having white cabinets or dark stained one? Why not choose both? This shows it can work!

  Kitchen Backsplash

A mix of carrara marble and mini-subway tiles were used as backsplash in this kitchen.  Modern yet timeless.

  Family Room

I always love family rooms that are sunny and comfortable. This one opens to an amazing covered patio.

 Home Decor

 Gorgeous mix of pattern!

 Powder Room

The vanity was custom designed by the architect and it has custom forged handles —  a unique touch.

Note the wainscoting and the beautiful tiling and marble slab.

 Bathroom Tiling

Mosaic Tiles are “Ann Sacks Custom Interlocking Ovals Tiles by Erin Adams”.

  Home Office

This is a perfect home office, with plenty of storage and just enough space to do your errands.

Dimensions: The room is about 8′ wide, about 14′ long.  The counter itself is about 25″ deep.

The counters are a stained wood veneer.

Chairs are similar to “Eames Aluminium Group EA 117 / 119”. More affordable alternative can be found here.

  Entryway

Pure white and black elegance! You can’t go wrong with this seamless look.

The flooring is 3/4″ tongue and groove rift white oak, with a very dark stain.

Stair runner is sisal.

 Landing

Light fixture is the “Cassiopeia by Ironware International”.

The stair railing was custom-made by the architect. Fabulous!

 Kid’s Bedroom

If you have kids, you know they need storage. This bedroom is perfect to keep their things organized, and it also has great space for homework.

One my favorite light fixtures: “Large Simple Scallop Chandelier by Barbara Barry”.

 Kid’s Bathroom

This is a lucky little girl! What a great bathroom. I love the vanity design under the sink. Very unique.

 Master Bathroom

This is my kind of bathroom… feminine and elegant!

Chandelier is the fabulous “Asilah chandelier by Ironies”.

Bath stool is the “Newbury Bath Stool by Restoration Hardware”.

Paint Color is “Titanium OC-49 by Benjamin Moore”.

 Modern Bathroom

This masculine bathroom has so many great ideas, including a towel warmer unit.

 Bathroom Countertop

The countertop in this bathroom is travertine.

Laundry Room

A practical laundry room is a must in every house!

This one is about 8′-6″ wide, this allowed for 2′ cabinetry on the right, 3′ depth full size washer and dryer on the left and sufficient aisle space in the middle. Laundry machines generally need at least three feet in front of them, in this instance it had about 3′-6″.

Mudroom

This is a stunning mudroom. Very practical, but still very tailored.

Dimensions: About 8′ x 9′.

 Pool & Patio

What a creative outdoor space. The entire area is embraced by the house and the covered patio.

 Covered Patio

This incredible covered patio connects to a guest house.

 Outdoor Lighting

Amazing ceiling details and light fixture.

 Backyard

The massing of the home is sensitive, balanced and just great looking.

This is the kind of architecture that not only inspires, but also teaches.

How are you??? I missed being here, preparing new posts and talking to you guys, but I have to say that I had a wonderful time with my family. I won’t lie… it was busy around here! I cooked and cleaned a lot! Isn’t Christmas always like this? I remember when we used to celebrated it at my grandparents’ home and we just had to be there… no worries with food, cleaning, nothing at all!

It’s a little different when we have everyone at your place, but it’s all worth it. We get tired, but our hearts feel warm and grateful. And that’s how I am honestly feeling lately. I am feeling grateful for everything and everyone in my life.

I believe the more blessings we count, the more they come!

So, what are you grateful for today?

Have a wonderful week, my friends!

 with Love,
