This post was completely inspired by a reader/friend’s Muskoka cottage. Erica, a very special reader and I can now call friend, is always around, leaving comments and we often talk via email. She has been very supportive and giving me great tips on how to live gluten free and she just shared some pictures of her dreamy lake cottage (seen above and in the next two pictures below). As you all know, I love Muskoka cottages and love any kind of coastal interiors, and since summer is almost here, why not celebrate it with a post featuring only coastal interiors!
These beautiful coastal interior ideas are full of classic design choices, such as white walls with blue and white decor, plank walls, plank ceilings, white beadboard, wide plank flooring, ceiling beams and plenty of natural light. Some of these interiors were designed by one of the best coastal designers, Muskoka Living Interiors. This company not only has many very talented interior designers working for them, but they also have a fabulous coastal store in Ontario, Canada.

Now, let’s embrace the warm days, the ocean’s breeze and try to bring some of these ideas into our home. You can start by changing your pillows and your heavy rugs for light-colored, flat cotton indoor/outdoors rugs. Bring summer and color into your home. I promise this will lift your spirit!
