I can’t complain about where I live, but if we ever decide to build, I know we would choose to build a shingle style home, I’m passionate about its architecture. Located in the Water Mill area of The Hamptons, New York, this shingle style home has 12,000 sf , 8+ bedrooms, guest house and a luxurious oversized gunite pool.
The house itself was built with the highest level of quality in design and execution and its spectacular 2.3+/- acre grounds are lushly planted with perennial gardens, mature trees, arbors of wisteria and a giant double privet hedge offering total and complete privacy.
As we all know, having a house in the Hamptons doesn’t come cheap, but if looking for classic shingle style home in the Hamptons, this might be for you. How much would you have to bring to the table? $19,995,000.
Take a look and let me know if you’d pay this much to live here!
Hamptons Shingle Style Home
Shingle style homes has that welcoming, “family home” feeling that I love.
The living room feels classy yet comfortable. I’d like to bring more color in, but the neutral pallet makes the space feel calm and relaxed.
I feel completely inspired by this dining room. Using two tables is an interesting idea. You can use only one table for a more intimate dinner or bring the second table together for more space when having a bigger number of people over for dinner.
This is a big kitchen! I like the two islands and the window treatments.
I really like the feel you get from this space. It’s serene and inviting. I know I’d make some small changes, but this space is fantastic. Oh, don’t you adore those ottomans?
This is perfect! I know that many people love having enormous bathrooms, but I think this is the perfect size for it. I like bathrooms to feel spacious, but cozy at the same time.
I think this room could be more interesting, but it’s a lovely room for a little girl. Cute light fixture.
Oh, what a lucky boy!!! I adore this room.
Neutral and fun!
What a peaceful place. It makes me miss dining outdoors. Notice the fans. They’re great to cool you down during summer and make the bugs bug somewhere else. 🙂
The gunite pool is serviced by a proper pool house.

Isn’t it a beautiful property? We can dream, right?

Would you buy it if you had the almost $20 mil?I always think that, if I had that much money I probably would want to build my own home, exactly the way I want…
Did you have a good weekend? I still have my Christmas tree up! Please, tell me I’m not the only one. Am I??? LOL The kids asked me to keep it and I was grateful they did. It seems this weekend went by too fast and I cared less about things I had to do and instead, did more what I wanted to do. When do I ever do that? Almost never… but I did it my way this weekend. Ha! 😉
Now, let’s go back to work, but always remembering to enjoy life.
Honestly… don’t wait for anything to happen to start enjoying life. You deserve to feel happy now.
Have a Blessed week.

This house is like a dream, and the money as well 😉
Beautiful home. I’m a little like you are. If I had 20 mil I’d be tempted to do it myself. We just took our tree down this past Saturday. I loved every minute of keeping it up.
