Do you have $48,000,000 sitting in your bank account? Me neither! But we can still dream, can’t we? So here we go…
This iconic oceanfront estate on famed Gin Lane, in Southampton, is the ultimate luxurious retreat. Panoramic views extend over the Atlantic Ocean to Lake Agawam and it’s currently owned by fashion entrepreneurs, Vince and Louise Camuto. The residence is offered on 5.25 acres (additional acreage available).
Built in the late 1920’s, designed as a summer retreat, it exists now, as originally intended, in harmony with it’s surroundings. The classic English Tudor style home shares a pedigreed past with owners such as the Woolworth family and Edmund Lynch, founding partner of Merrill Lynch. The present owners, world renowned designers, have honored the estate’s glorious past while completely modernizing and transforming the home and property into a splendid estate.
The gracious interiors with fine details like vaulted ceilings, limestone floors and custom bronze doors offer both elegance and comfortable living with many rooms accessing terraces and lawns. The stunning pool, pool house, formal gardens, romantic green house and tennis court are just a few of the superb additions.
Wooldon Manor is truly an inspirational estate. I hope you enjoy seeing its timeless interiors.
According to “The Real Estalker”, sometime in the 1930s Wooldon Manor was acquired by financier Edmund Lynch—founder of Merrill Lynch—who died in 1938. The sprawling oceanfront estate fell into a state of disrepair and in 1941 the massive main house was demolished and a number of the estate’s numerous outbuildings, including the pool house, converted to private residences.
This house has 30 rooms! Ten bedrooms, 10 full bathrooms, 1 partial bath and approx. 12,800 sq. ft. Big enough for you? 🙂
The expansive living room feels cozy thanks to its several sitting areas.
This is my new favorite kitchen! I love the creative architectural details found here and the simple, yet very elegant island. It sure adds a feminine touch to the space.
The eating area was incredibly designed! I can’t get over the blue and white ceramic chandelier.
A cozy place to read a book or have some tea with a friend.
This family is all about comfort. I love the chandelier and the beams.
Wooldon Manor was once called the most opulent home in the Hamptons.
My jaw dropped when I first saw this space!
The master bedroom is very unique and elegant. I love the millwork and that incredible bed.
If you thought you could bring your jaw from the floor, you will have to wait a little longer… my advice? Bring a bib! Yes, this bathroom not only drops your jaw, but it makes you drool too! 🙂
I haven’t seen a great bathroom like this one in a while. It’s just like the master bedroom, unique. It has many elements you have seen before, but done in a new way.
A marble tub should be a must in a mansion with this price tag, no? Take a look at the details on this one.
The view from the balcony looks out over the garden and towards the Atlantic Ocean.
The guest bedroom is calm and comfortable. Impressive bed!
Many rooms at Wooldon Manor provide direct access to the vast outdoor living and entertainment areas that include an ocean view loggia that links to a (mostly) glass-enclosed terrace. Recreational amenities includes broad flat lawns, an ocean-side swimming pool and pool house, a fenced tennis court, and a glass-roofed greenhouse.
This is a great place to relax and to entertain.
How can you not fall in love with the grounds of this property? It even have a greenhouse!
Pool & Pool House
Serenity and style can be found at the pool and the pool house. Timeless architecture52|”?!
Beach & Land
Unspecified additional acreage is also available for an unknown price. Can you imagine paying more than $48,000,00, to finally get everything you see in this picture?
One more thing that actually concerns me… don’t you think this house is a bit too close to the ocean? It would freak me out during a storm! 🙂
Sure the location counts here, but would you pay $48,000,000to live in this house? Share your opinion!
Did you enjoy your weekend? The weather was great here… not too hot, nor too cold, which was perfect to get out of the house and play in the garden with the kids. It was lovely.
Plans for this week? Plenty! We’ll be doing some more traveling during this week. I want to visit some places we haven’t before and try some new restaurants… This is one of our favorite things to do when we go to a new city!:-)
Have a Blessed week, my friends and I’ll see you guys tomorrow.
If I am wrong, right me. If I am lost, guide me. If I start to give-up, keep me going.

Have a wonderful day, my friends and we’ll talk again tomorrow.”

Definitely too close to ocean for me too! I guess if you have this kind of money, you head to your other house till the storm passes 😉 These mansions are fun to look at but I honestly wouldn’t be comfortable living in something this large…something I’ll never have to worry about ha ha 🙂
I love the soft, muted colours in the rooms and the greenhouse is fabulous. I especially like the unique architecture that allows it to stand apart from your ‘typical’ mansion on the oceanfront.
Have a great week, Luciane.
Funny just posted this yesterday! Great minds think alike..isn;t it an absolute dream!
That is one manicured lawn, any Englishman would be proud of!
The place is sooo huge. Too scary. I am very practical and frugal. How does/would a person dust all those “things???” Yeah. Maid service! Lots & lots of maids. Well, I’ve never had a maid. Out of my comfort zone. Haa.
Truthfully, it would not ever be feasible for me to purchase a mansion like this …. money or not. Then again, I’d love to hang-out a few times during the year! That would really be something!!
