Home Bunch - Interior Design Ideas

You should never complicate your interiors and that’s even more important when it comes to cottages.

This coastal cottage, once titled as ” Coastal Living Idea Cottage” for Coastal Living magazine, was beautifully designed by interior designer Tracey Rapisardi and it’s a good example of how beach cottages should be done — with a relaxed and comfortable approach. Uncomplicated is always best, even when it comes to interiors!

I am sharing many of the paint colors used in this cottage. These are very soothing colors that are great on walls and even on furniture. Take note!

Coastal Cottage with Paint Color Ideas

You know you’re by the beach as soon you open the doors!

Walls, ceiling, and trim in “Martha Stewart Waverly Clean White (WV31001) by Valspar”.

Stools are Ketchum stools by Somerset Bay.

Floors are white and light gray ceramic tiles.

Dining Room

The causal dining room embraces the ocean view with its subtle colors.

Wall Paint Color: “Martha Stewart Waverly Clean White (WV31001) by Valspar”.

Chairs are “Easthampton armchairs”. Dining table, chandelier, hanging dishes, “Pine Point Beach” sign, and tableware are from Sea Rose Designs.

Furniture Paint Color

Hutch Paint Color: “Seaside Retreat Summer Sorbet (SR1011) by Valspar”.

Coastal Kitchen

This kitchen is just perfect for a cottage by the sea. It’s casual but full of personality. Note the custom distressed cabinets and the white (“Snowdon White by Cambria”) quartz countertop.

Paint Color: Walls, ceiling, and trim in “Martha Stewart Waverly Clean White WV31001″. Stripes in Martha Stewart Weathered Copper MS316 by Valspar”.

Stools are “Malibu bar stools in Vanilla Bean by Somerset Bay”.

An organized pantry is a must in every house.

Living Room

You can’t help but feel relaxed in this space.

Paint Color: Walls in Martha Stewart Handkerchief (MS287) and Fresh Aquarium (MS288), and trim and doors in Martha Stewart Waverly Clean White (WV31001) by Valspar.

Furniture & Fabrics: Darby Lane couch fabric in Ocean, Cove Hollow chair fabric in Ocean, Pencil Stripe pillow fabric in Spring.

Cottages should always feel like this… casual and comfy. Perfect for hours of chatting! 🙂

Coastal Furniture

Wicker furniture is always a classic addition to any cottage.

The wicker couch is by Muelle Bay and cushion “fabric is Capri by Robert Allen”.

Master Bedroom

This bedroom is elegant without being overly done. Beautiful combination of off-white and soft blues paint colors, make this room feel calm and inviting.

Stripes Paint Color: Martha Stewart Paint Color “Eddie Bauer Oyster EB12-4” and “Shore EB12-3” .

Floor Paint Color: “Martha Stewart Araucana Blue MS313”

Bathroom Paint Color Ideas

This is such a soothing paint color for a bathroom. Just perfect!

“Paint Color: Martha Stewart Araucana Blue MS313”.

Even the closet was done right in this cottage!

The Montauk mirror in Vanilla Bean is by Somerset Bay.

Guest Bedroom

This guest bedroom show us you can be creative with color even in a small space.

Wall Paint Color: “Martha Stewart Great Blue Heron (MS229) by Valspar”.

Savannah Bed in Key Lime Pie and Mercer Island bedside chest in Vanilla Bean by Somerset Bay.

Bedding design and construction by Sweet Summer Linens.

The attic is perfect for extra guests or simply as a kids’ hide-away space.

Crisp White Paint Color

Paint Color: Waverly Clean White (WV31001) by Valspar.

The deco table fan in Sky is by The Company Store.

Craft Room

I am seriously wanting a craft room lately. Aren’t they great? Here, the designer took advantage of nooks created by the eaves of the house, placing work tables underneath the windows and using the abundant storage space to hide extra supplies. Creative!

The designer turned the bonus room above the garage into a smart and practical craft room.

Turquoise Paint Color

This is a great, subtle turquoise paint color: “Seaside Retreat Summer Sorbet SR1011”.

Take a minute to enjoy life…

Isn’t this cottage just perfect? I love the color palette and how simple it feels. It’s the kind of place you want to spend your summers at.

I hope you had a great time here today. Thank you so much for your comments and emails yesterday. I was to a point that I needed to open my heart to someone and I knew I could do it here, with you guys.

I am off now to clean and organize some things around the house. I know… not fun, but I love the feeling of when you’re done and you take a look around the house and everything is clean and smelling good! 🙂

Have a happy and safe day, my friends.

What a beautiful home – so clean looking 😀 Glad us internet friends were able to cheer you up a little. That’s where this world-wide-web is so wonderful – being able to share and care with each other no matter where in our beautiful world we are 🙂

  8. I felt calmer just looking at those photos. When I see houses onlin that feature basically one color throughout, I find them so appealing, but I wonder if I would get bored actually living in one…

Hey there! This is a beautifully designed home and I’m in love with the overhang on the front door in the very first photo. Can you please share the details as I’m looking for one like that for my garage?
