It was a piece of driftwood, weathered by the elements that inspired the gray palette of this transitional beach house kitchen. The walls between the original kitchen, the dining room and a small office were knocked down to combine them into one big, open casual kitchen.
Designed by Heidi Piron Design & Cabinetry, this white kitchen combines classic lines with a fresh approach.
Take note of the designer sources. This might just inspire your to start your next kitchen remodel!
Transitional Beach House Kitchen Style
Hickory Chair’s Ilsa counterstools are pulled up to the island with legs cuffed in stainless steel to prevent scuffs.
Close-up of quartzite, a natural stone, on island, which was also used on the perimeter counters.
Quartzite is being my got-to countertop lately. I have suggested it to several clients before and they love it. Quartzite is as durable as it is beautiful.
The graceful curves of the RangeCraft’s Baroque hood provide visual contrast with the Metrix tiles by Waterworks.
Using white subway tiles with dark grout always add a more industrial feel to the space.
White Kitchen Cabinet Paint Color
The paint color on the kitchen cabinets was a custom paint formula. It is a crisp white without being stark.
A back hallway was transformed into into a butler’s pantry featuring cabinets stained to look like old weathered wood. The backsplash is antique mirror, which opens the room but continues the same color palette. A Rohl sink and faucet are set into Antique Brown granite countertop. The beverage refrigerator is by Sub-Zero.
Beautiful & Practical
The small sink in the butler’s pantry can be used for prep, or the counter can be set up as a bar during a party.
The blue-gray hutch in the dining area, an unfitted piece designed by the designer, provides storage for the kid’s games and has built-in chargers inside for all their electronic devices.
The paint color is a custom blended color along with a special finishing process on the cabinetry. Isn’t it gorgeous?
This week seems to be going so fast, isn’t it? I have being working as much as I can this week, but I still have to finish a project for a dear client of mine. I planned on doing this last weekend but we got a terrible storm and our power kept going on and off. That’s not how you want to work! 🙂
Talking about the weather, it’s still pretty bad here on the East Coast. These are the days I miss the west the most! I just want to have a break from the cold and snow. It’s so bad around here that we went for a drive today and it felt as if we were in a movie. It felt surreal, overwhelming. Some snowbanks were almost touching the power lines at some places! Trees are looking like shrubs and small houses (we live in a place where there are many beach cottages) are half-covered! Well, did I mention I can’t open many doors in my house? We have a huge deck off our family room and kitchen and the snow covered the entire doors. I kid you not!
Listen to this… we’re expecting more snow on Thursday. Hey, does anyone own a vacation home somewhere warm? If so, I would mind if you sent me the keys! 🙂
Enjoy your day, my friends and if you have some sunshine today, look at the sky and enjoy it for me, ok?
Talk to you all again tomorrow!
