Summer always inspires me. In fact, this is the time of the year I feel happier and more balanced, health-wise and spiritually as well. It might be all the fresh air, the ocean or simply the fact that I can open all the windows and patio doors and let the fresh, warm breeze run through my entire house.
This is the time of the year where I allow more colors to arrive as well. The colors come through new decorative pieces, fresh flowers and art. Since my house is by the water and I live for coastal interiors, I tend to decorate my own home with this motif in mind.
Today’s post features many interior ideas which embrace the magic of a summer day. Some spaces have color, others a soothing color palette, but all are bathed in light.

Hello, everyone! The weekend is here and I can’t believe how fast this week went by. In fact, this summer is going by way too fast, don’t you think? It scares me to see how time is flying by lately and I feel I need to slow down a little to enjoy life.
You probably have read here, I am constantly working on interior projects and balancing my life around my kids, husband and my other passion – this blog. Do I need to say that I am always busy? But I think it’s a “healthy” busy lifestyle. I love what I do and I live for my family, so I feel happy the way things are going. Having said that, I do think I should take a couple days just for myself and my family in August. I want to drive to a beach cottage and stay quiet for the weekend.
I used to write a lot when I was growing up and this is slowly coming back to me, especially now that my grandfather is loosing his battle to cancer. This is bringing a lot of emotions, a lot of appreciation to life, and my way to deal with this is, besides praying, is by writing down my thoughts and poems.
Maybe I should take a weekend to “pour my heart” on some empty pages by the sea. Just the thought of doing it makes me feel better already.
I’ll make sure to let you know if that happens. Some pictures would be nice too, right? 🙂

Greetings, my dear Luciane! This post was AMAZING! So much to look at and absorb, I loved it. You outdid yourself with this post! Although I have not been visiting for a while (busy with life) and don’t even upkeep my own blog for a LONG time…. I do miss visiting YOU but, when I do, you NEVER disappoint. You are great. AND: I’m sorry about your grandfather, I will say a prayer for him and you too. Keep in mind though, no one of us knows: He could beat whatever cancer throws at him! One never knows what the good Lord has in store for us — if our time is up, or when our time can maybe be continued… It is up to the good Lord. So I will pray for your grandfather and you. I do remember when you lost your grandmother some time ago, and you were so sad and did a wonderful tribute here for her. I lost my Aunt Helen this week, she was the best, sweetest, kindest, generous person I have ever known.
