Originally from the early 1900’s, this shingle family home was designed by the very talented interior designer Maria Toczylowski from Beach Dwellings Interior Designers & Decorators.
After a major gut renovation, the architects decided to preserve its timeless architectural details and charm while adding modern amenities for a more easy and comfortable lifestyle. Front and back porches were added to the home to maximize outdoor living. The interior merged the homeowners casual style with the traditional style of the home.
This house is a great example of classic architecture. I hope you guys enjoy it!
Traditional Restored Shingle Home
It’s easy to make an entry feel welcoming. Here, the designer added a pair of planters, an outdoor rug (notice that it goes under the planters for a more appealing aesthetics) and don’t forget to add fresh paint on your front door.
Rocking It
The front porch is very large and well decorated with several rocking chairs and porch swings.
Porch Swing Dream
Comfort and interest is added with a pair of swings painted in black to match the front door and rocking chairs.

This white kitchen has classic finishes mixed with unexpected choices. I love the large island and the timeless apron sink.
Also notice the eating nook on the back and the white linen shades.

The countertop in this kitchen is honed carrara marble – a very popular choice for white marbles.
Backsplash
This is one of the most creative backsplash I have seen in a while. Lay brick in herringbone pattern, paint and seal it. This is an affordable, durable and very stylish option for backsplash.
Pantry
This kitchen features an elegant kitchen pantry with custom cabinets and double barn doors.
Family Room
This room is all about comfort and architecture. The furnishing invites you to sit and relax while the architecture brings interest to the entire space.
French doors leads you to the outdoor living areas and the barn doors leads you to a cozy den.

Hi everyone! How’s everything with you today? This weekend was busy but I tried to have a quiet moment today. The kids are playing hockey and I never knew it would be this busy! I love seeing them on ice, but there’s so much driving! Oh, well, at least we’re building memories together and doing something positive. I see how happy they feel after every practice and I know it’s all worth it.
