Home Bunch - Interior Design Ideas

Hello, my dear friends! How are you? I really hope you’re having a wonderful end of year and are enjoying this beautiful time with the people you love. We’re taking it slow and trying to recharge our energy for the New Year that is about to start and it’s with this in mind that I decided to collect my Top 5 Interior Design Ideas that I am predicting will make their way to 2021 and beyond. Take notes and feel free to click on the links under the images to see the complete house tours. I hope you have a great time!

Home Bunch’s Top 5 Picks Interior Design Ideas for 2021

#1: Hard Surfaces

This is an idea that I, as a mother of three, completely recommend! Here, the designer, Julie Howard of @TimberTrailsHomes, shares the details: “The Mudroom cabinet built-in bench is Quartz, Caesarstone Symphony Grey – I love this trick. It’s such a hard durable surface. You can put your shoes up on the ledge to tie them and not worry about getting a fabric cushion dirty or chipping a wood surface. It costs a bit more but will hold up and look great for years to come.” – Design: Julie Howard for @TimberTrailsHomes  📷: @stofferphotographyinteriors

#2: Two-toned Exterior

A vibrant exterior can be achieved with architectural details and with paint. The trend of Modern Farmhouse exterior will continue to be strong in 2021 and black accents won’t fade away, at least not when it comes to being a trend. Not a fan of back and white exteriors? You can give it a try with other classic color combinations such as Navy Blue and White. Light Grey with Charcoal, like we see in the house above, is yet another beautiful combination that is becoming very popular.  Design: @MHouseDevelopment  📷: @margaretrajic

#3: Multi-Functional Rooms

As cliche as it sounds, if there’s anything 2020 has taught us is that “when you can’t change the direction of the wind you must adjust your sails” and that goes with our home as well. Many of us started working from home and that means that we had to make some adjustments. A rarely used formal Dining Room became a Home Office and the Loft area is now a classroom.

When creating a multi-functional space in your home, try to add furniture that can easily be moved and try to keep everything as tidy (meaning, uncluttered) as possible. This will help you work better while keeping your mind focused.  Design: @tricklecreekyyc  📷: @_lnphoto

#4: Natural Elements

Why do you think Farmhouse/Country style is so popular? My theory is because we are feeling a necessity of connection and natural elements bring us “home”. Maybe it’s a memory of our childhood, maybe it a sense of simplicity that we are craving in our lives but natural elements such as natural stone and raw wood ground the spaces and bring us a sense of connection with ourselves and nature, making the spaces we live have a cozy and inviting feel that makes us feel right at home. #5: Create your Own Oasis

Yes, living by the water certainly would be the ultimate “oasis” but you can create your own paradise even if you live in an apartment and only have a small balcony as your private outdoor space. Add things that make you feel more relaxed just by looking at them such as plants (gardens or potted plants), water fountains and comfortable outdoor furniture layered with pillows. Spending more time outdoors is not only healthy for our body but it also does wonders for our mind. Take plenty of deep breaths and allow yourself to enjoy the natural beauty that surrounds your home. Feeling connected and grounded will help us to choose and create a good path to walk on during this beautiful year that is just starting.  Design: @grandecustombuilders  📷: @mb_productions_nc
