Designed by Asher Architects, this beach cottage on the coast of southern New Jersey is an ideal weekend getaway home. The cottage is new but the style gracefully bridges the gap between past and present. Covered decks and uncovered windows provide ample ocean and beach viewing while coastal interiors creates a relaxing feel that constant reminds you that this place was designed to be enjoyed at its fullest.
Get inspired by this classic and timeless beach cottage and start your day in a calmer state of mind.
This beach cottage is full of inspiration, from wide plank oak floors to that impressive custom bench.
Foyer lighting is Thomas O’Brien Henry Industrial Hanging Light and, in the hallway, the octagonal lanterns are Suzanne Kasler Small Morris Lanterns.
This crisp white beach house kitchen features a large island with blue and white counterstools and wide plank reclaimed wood backsplash.
The master bedroom is serene and simple. I love the tongue and groove walls, the wide plank floors and the window shutters. French doors open to a balcony with ocean view.
It would be really hard for this to be my “vacation” home. I’m sure I wouldn’t want to leave this place… ever! 🙂
Isn’t this a charming way to hang flower baskets? It’s perfect for a beach house!
You look at the beach and you can almost hear the waves crushing on the shore.
Let’s go for a walk…
I finished this post and I took a very deep breath… the last image brings many memories to my mind. I love taking the afternoons and go for long walks on the beach with my kids and my husband. There is very few places that can relax me as much as the beach… the ocean really heals and makes me feel closer to my soul.
I hope this post could you make feel good, happy and relaxed. Make sure to bring this peace with you throughout your day.
We’ll talk again tomorrow.
