Located in Charlestown, Rhode Island this small shingle beach house features cozy and charming interiors. All spaces in this cottage are simple, quaint and incredibly inviting. You can easily imagine yourself driving to this home and spending a weekend just relaxing, reading a good book and at the end of the day going for a walk on the beach only a few meters away.
Start daydreaming and let your mind rest for a few minutes…
Small Shingle Beach Cottage Design
A combination of beams and beadboard ceiling with a stone fireplace adds warmth to the living room.
Also, notice the beautiful doors and transoms.
A custom window seat creates a relaxing spot by the bay window.
To the Kitchen
Transom windows and corbels make this kitchen feel even more special.
Floors are Red Oak.
Blue Gray Kitchen Paint Color
Farrow and Ball Lulworth Blue.
Now, tell me… isn’t this the cutest breakfast nook? I can picture myself here, having a calm breakfast while reading the paper. Oh, the blueberry muffins are a good idea, too!
The charcoal cabinet paint color is “Farrow & Ball Railings 31”.
I found this cottage after sharing this picture on a post last week. I wanted to share the rest of this place because it’s full of great ideas, such as the rope railing.
The main bathroom features a coastal wallpaper, custom cabinets and marble basketweave floors.
Faucets and sink are by Kohler.
Unique idea of creating storage space around a freestanding bath. Cleaning behind the bath wouldn’t be the easiest thing, unless you’re a yoga teacher!
I fell in love with this bedroom. The entire cottage feels cozy, but the master bedroom is grand and airy. Notice the ocean view you get on the left.
Farrow & Ball New White.
Great girls bedroom with a pair of vintage spool beds and quilt shades.
The entire cottage offers stunning millwork. An arched hallway features beadboard walls that leads you to a deck.
Shingled Beach Cottage
Naturally aged shingles add some extra charm to this cottage. Easy to love it!
Do you feel a little more relaxed? I sure do! Every summer we go to PEI, Canada — a place that I love, not only for its natural beauty, but also for its friendly people and amazing culinary. I look at this cottage and it makes me miss the island. Maybe I will suggest to my husband for us to rent a cottage and spend more time there. I can’t wait for summer and I should start making some plans for it soon! 🙂
I have to drive the kids to their doctor’s checkup now but we will talk some more tomorrow!
Have a great day, my friends!
